Phad Art Dates back to the 14th century. Phad painting are originally large horizontal Paintings that portray the epic lives of local folk heroes and demi gods in Rajasthan. In the times when cinemas were not invented, phad paintings were a form of entertainment where people assembled and enjoyed the storytelling show with Phad paintings are traditionally about 5 feet wide and 15 feet long to accommodate the numerous episodes of the depicted hero-god , Pabuji. Now in modern times the same community also paints the beautiful ‘’ Tree of Life” and animals surrounding it with the primitive method of making the colors out of the elements available in nature.
